About the SR-120

The SR-120 is the unit we fit most often, and the reason is boring: it does the ordinary things well. The display is wide enough to read a channel name at arm’s length in daylight, the preset keys are physical rather than printed onto a touch panel, and the aerial connector sits on the back rather than the side, so the loom does not fight the dash cavity when you push the sleeve home.

It carries its identifier on screen rather than only on a sticker inside the chassis. That matters more than it sounds. Every activation conversation begins with somebody reading a receiver identifier out loud, and on a lot of hardware that means pulling the unit back out of the dash to find a label you already scratched during the first fit. On the SR-120 you hold MENU for three seconds and it is on the screen.

Audio out is on both a pair of line-level RCA jacks and a 3.5 mm socket, so it will feed a factory amplifier, an aftermarket head unit or a portable speaker without an adapter. Power is 12–24 V, which means it works in a van or a light truck without a converter.
